Why your van needs tip up seats
You’ll be quite used to thinking about whether your van needs a new part or service. And with any vehicle you’ll keep an eye on the wear and tear brought on by daily use. But you’ll also think about the seats. After all they take plenty of punishment. But it’s also important they are kept in good condition for health and safety reasons. So, with any van there’s going to come a time when you need to consider replacing or upgrading the factory fitted seats. Especially those installed behind the driver’s seat. And a great option to consider is tip up seats.
More space for crew or cargo
The biggest single reason to install tip up seats is to free up more space in the back of the vehicle. If you’ve already got fixed seating, you’ll be amazed at the difference replacement tip up seats will make. You instantly increase the space available for cargo or extra equipment. And of course, this extra space gives you more flexibility in how you use your vehicle.
Upgrade or crew cab conversion?
There’s going to be one of two reasons why you’re searching the internet for tip up seats for your van. Either you’re looking to replace or upgrade your current seating or you’re considering this type of seat for a crew cab conversion.
Whatever the circumstances, tip up seats are a great option for work vans. But, whatever the reason for buying new seats you have a couple of options to consider.
Different types of tip up seats
One of the most popular types of seat we manufacture and supply here at Alpha Seating is our rear facing tip up passenger seat. This particular seat is suitable for M1, M2 and M3 vehicles. So, if you have a works van or passenger vehicle this is the space saving seat you need. Because it fixes to the front bulkhead it’s easy to install in most vehicles and it comes complete with an integrated three-point seat belt. As we say, this is one of our most popular van seats but there is an alternative.
If you’re looking for a fixed floor mounted tip up seat, we make the model you need. Again, this seat is suitable for M1, M2 and M3 category vehicles. This seat is supplied as a single unit with a choice of five different cushion widths. So, it’s suitable for a wide range of vehicles. It has an integral lap and diagonal seat belt and can be safely mounted into your vehicle on Unwin rails.
Both types of tip up seats can be supplied in a large range of trims.
Whichever type of tip seats your van or passenger vehicle needs you’ll find it here at Alpha Seating. Remember all our seats are manufactured in our Leicestershire factory and are produced in compliance with all current UK and EU safety and regulations.
Don’t forget the legal bit
Once you’ve got your van fitted with new tip up seats, you’ll need to update your insurance. Unless the seats are straight replacements of course. But if you’ve installed additional seating you do need to contact your insurance company to update your policy.
